Tort? Do You Mean Tart?

Umm, I'm a cowgirl, not a lawyer. This started out in my comment section, but I decided to turn it into a post. I had written that bogus med mal cases affect me too. I was tempted to lie when my gastro doc and surgeon asked me what I did for a living. After I told them I was a lawyer, I wanted to add that they didn't have anything to worry about, that I wouldn't know a good med mal case if it jumped up and bit me on the ass. That should say a lot about my abilities as a lawyer.

Then GruntDoc’s post the next day confirmed I am not the only one. He wrote "The most reticent to tell me what they do are lawyers (and I'm just guessing here, but if I was a lawyer in an ED I'd worry a little that I'd get over-tested and overdiagnosed due to medmal paranoia). . . "

If I have to go to the ER, I am saying I am a teacher, pilot, stripper... anything but a lawyer. Over-testing sounds like it could be painful. Although I'm sure he was just kidding about that (please be kidding about that).

I am harmless, unless you default on your loan from Big Bad Bank and then file bankruptcy. Then I will be all over your ass. At least when I’m not goofing off reading medblogs.
