Look Fast

Okay, look fast because ATM is rapidly falling.

This morning Addicted to Medblogs was listed as #120 on the list of "The World's Top Blogs on Health and Medicine". When I first saw it, I thought "WTF? They must be trying to sell me something."

After news of the List spread throughout the blogosphere, and the legit medblogs were added, ATM has dropped to #130 [130. Addicted to Medblogs 4 1 9 5 19] . I'll give it another 15 minutes and I'm pretty sure ATM will be off the List forever.

After the riff-raff like ATM is knocked off the List, it will probably be a good source for finding the popular medblogs. But I still think the best place for finding great medblogs is Kim's blogroll on Emergiblog. Big and popular blogs are nice, but those little out-of-the-way medblogs are pretty damn interesting. I love it when I accidently stumble on a great medblog that's kinda off the beaten path. My goal when I first started reading the medblogs was to visit each blog listed on Kim's blogroll. I'd still like to do it, but my job keeps getting in my way.

Oh well, for a few hours, ATM was #120. It was fun while it lasted.

Wow MA! That's great - congrats! :)

Thanks Seaspray, but it was only due to dumb luck or being in the right place at the right time. I think they need to work the kinks out of the ranking system.

Down to 135 now. Grunt Doc was complaining yesterday because he wasn't in the top 100, I see he's around 178 or so. Dr Dork is 50 and he's been gone for a bit so he must have had some good stats to keep him still there.
Good job Medblog, it must have been Matt-Trenchy who put you up there.

You'll always be #120 to me :-)

Ok, that was meant to be cute. Maybe it didn't come off that way.

I got it Geena. LOL

Oh, please, it has nothing to do with the quality of my blog. It is some quirk of technology and an algorithm. Although putting up half-nekkid hot men and having Trenchy write my posts for me probably can't hurt my ratings in the future.

Good Lord, I'm at 170 myself. Where did this come from? Until you mentioned it, I didn't know there was such a place that ranked medical websites...

Still, that's too cool, MBA :)

I keep getting all excited when my Technorati ranking goes up. It's rather pathetic that I'm thrilled to be in the upper 600K group (because I started at the 1.25 million mark).

Hey, whatever. 120 or 135 is still way cool!

Mine started off at 151, but I think it has now been elbowed off the cliff. C'est la vie.

Well hey, at least you made it on the list. When I checked just now you were #154. Mine (Tundra Medicine Dreams) didn't even make the list. Oh well, I never was in with the in crowd. Thanks for visiting and commenting at my place anyway, MA! I gotta work on updating my blogroll and get you on there.

Thanks for the kind words!

I get all upset when I fall on the Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem!

Hey, at least you have a number! You're still tops with me, Meddy Addy.

For the record, I thought your recently deceased post was amusing, and I hope it wasn't my comment that made you take it down. I thought I was being Freudian/witty. If it wasn't, I apologize.

I took it down because it was embarrassing. Maybe I'll repost it in a week or two, when I can laugh about it. And it wasn't one of your best comments, but you're still my favorite surgeon.

Oh, oh, oh. Didn't they tell you? Addiction always sells.

I am with Dr S. I too hope I didn't offend and the whole thing was very funny. Sorry M.A. I am still laughing.

Who among us hasn't made a mistake. Ha! I could write a book about embarrassing moments!

My blog has been more serious - sort of lately. My most recent post was inspired by what I know of Michael Moore's sicko and I have questions about socialized medicine.

i feel a funny post coming on soon! :)

Hey, that's great and don't worry about ratings on a site like that and "falling." I had to check to see if I was there just because I'm totally stupid but of course I'm not. My blog isn't so medical--it's a nutcase blog!

It could be due to linkage or postage or commentage or who knowage...yes, I'm making up wordage or nounage/verbage.

I know that funny TTLB Ecosystem thing is about people who link to you? I think? I'm still some funny, lowly "creature" but I'm there? I still find it funny when people just link to me and I have no idea! It's almost embarrassing!

But I'm cool because I'm reading your blog from a pub right now 'cause I've got free wifi where I live.

Yes, I'm geek who's addicted to blogs.

Hope you're well,
PA

Hi. This is the first time I've visited your blog. I like what I've seen so far, but I would prefer a Nursing Calendar if it's all the same to you. :o)

I do agree, however, that Kim's site is an excellent resource for finding interesting new blogs.

I hate to do this to you... you being a fellow medblog addict and all... but I'm still going to have to add you to my blogroll.

I thought I should appologize ahead of time seeing as how it'll probably knock you down at least another hundred points or so. :o)

Big blogs are nice, but I like to see something written in a more personal tone, and big ones don't always have that.
